bowfinger

Though I had to look at Style.com's detail shots to figure out what they actually were, I think that the bow gloves in Valentino's Fall 2010 Haute Couture collection are beyond divine:

Tim Blanks has written a review of the collection and I have to say, given all the brouhaha there was about the guy when he came for Australian Fashion Week this year, it reads a little strangely. The piece begins 'Couture embraces worlds.' with little follow up to this odd and sweeping statement. In the rest of the review he refers variously to 'Val's gal' and 'Valli's gals'. Maybe he and Valentino are on nickname-basis.
Anyway, it's a pretty cool collection I think, and it does tend to rebel against Brigitte Bardot's damning appraisal of an aging institution - she once suggested (a little meanly) that 'Haute Couture is for grannies.'
