As someone who raved a lot about the innovativeness of Viktor and Rolf's S/S 2010 show, I was a tad dismayed to discover that Hussein Chalayan had done something kinda similar with tulle in his SS 2000 collection:
I definitely don't think the similarities are anywhere near serious enough to warrant accusations of copying but this situation does remind me that, when it comes to fashion, a lot of shit has already been done.

Bits and Baubles II.
Let me hear a woot woot for Carrie's Solange Azagury-Partridge necklace from the upcoming Sex And The City movie:There is little doubt in my mind that Particia Field took inspiration from this post.

it sounds exactly the same
At first Ksubi's official website seemed like the single most annoying cyber-hole ever created - it's flooded with unhelpfully titled links, which are often duplicated throughout the site. Before long, however, I found myself in a sort of clicking-trance and indeed nearly all of the actual content is pretty phenomenal.

Not a palindrome. Still good.
WIM are an amazing local Sydney band who are currently recording in La La land. The music is wonderful (listen to some of it here) and I'm therefore embarrassed to admit that when I saw them earlier this year at the Hopetoun, I was quite distracted by lead singer Martin Solomon's sensational boots and jodhpurs.
Rockin' beats and mad steez. What more does a glam/ folk band need?
but a goodie
This photo is a bit of an oldie but I just noticed several interesting things in it. Firstly, this girl was rocking thigh-highs and sheer fabric WAY before anyone else. Secondly her geometric bakelite-esque bracelet is mad hot, and thirdly the seated girl in grey is pulling of a look I have an enduring soft spot for - the decorative exposed bra.
Pip pip to you, ladies.
Taken at a WIM concert at Oxford Art Factory.
They call me the wild rose.
