Timeline of a dress mistreated.

And. I. Love. Her.

1) The 1930s is a good friend to Kate Moss. Few could pull of this silhouette. Those sleeves!

2) Courtney Love is not your friend, Kate! Step away!

3) Uh Oh. Well, we've all seen it before, I guess.

4) Goddess. Absolute Goddess.

The (presumably unwearable) dress was later sold on Ebay, with proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.

Sapphic Chic.

This is hardly news but it just occurred to me how many lesbian fashion models there seem to be around the shop these days, and so many of them Australian. Something in the water, perhaps?

I don't know about you, but I reckon when you've been as genetically blessed as these here girlies, it is your responsibility as a member of the human race to procreate.
Lolcats, just kidding. Lez on, ladies.

1) Abbey Lee Kershaw, pictured here with rumoured lady-love, Freja Beha Erichsen, on the set of the new Chanel campaign:

2) Everyone's favourite bogan from Logan, Catherine McNeil, who has been linked (what an awful word) to Ruby Rose, below.

3) Ruby Rose, recently showed off some serious modelling chops in Australian Vogue. And that bastion of jounalistic integrity, The Herald Sun, even coined the phrase 'Celebra-dyke' to describe her. Christ.

4) L-O-L-A Lola. I'm just going by that Herald Sun article, so don't take this one as gospel. She may have never ever kissed a woman before.

5) The third player in the Ruby Rose/ Lola story. I can't say I've ever heard of Lindsay Anne (I'm going to trust her agent, Chadwick's, spelling of her name over the Herald Sun's) before reading the article.

6) Tully Smyth, whose blog I quietly adore:

break it, fix it, trash it, change it

Hussein Chalayan's Spring/ Summer 2007 collection remains one of my all-time favourites.

For all the innovation and mind-boggling technology, Chalayan never sacrifices the quality of a garment's design in order to showcase a special effect.

And that's why he's the King and you're a schmuck.

in glass houses

I know concrete is bad for the environment but this is too beautiful:

LiTraCon is a building material that has the strength of concrete while also magically (as far as I'm concerned) being translucent.

Wish you were here.

The Topshop website has a painfully annoying habit of posting pictures of things that AREN'T ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE WEBSITE.
Exhibit A:

Am I retarded? Where the bloody hell are they?

Edit: Found them. Don't like them that much anymore.

She's got the smarts, real bad.

Have you been aware of Diesel's Stupid campaign?

I'm not sure what to make of it but I don't think it's as bad as it seems.
It definitely deserves better wares to be advertising.

la la la la la

If you haven't watched Parks and Recreation yet you should really move your keester, Meester. My favourite character is April Ludgate and I have a little thing for Aubrey Plaza who plays her:

She's basically real-world Daria.

All up in my gill.

This must be underwater love. Can somebody shout me the £700 (!) I need to buy this pair of Stella McCartney Fishscale double platform sandals?

I'm good for it, I swear.

But she once fell through the street.

Last night I attended the combined launch of Karla Špetić's AW2010 collection and an exhibition of artworks by Caitlin Shearer. The two have collaborated on several garments:

The designer and artist were drawn together in part by a shared love of Sofia Coppola's films, which Shearer describes as being 'i
mbued with a sense of feminine languor'.
This has to be one of the best descriptions of Coppola's work that I have ever read.

For the most part Shearer's artworks are almost impossibly pretty. Now and then, however, there are some darker pieces and I must say I find these to be the most interesting:

hardwood floors and slamming doors

I went to a certain party Bounanza with every intention of taking photos of everyone and thing I saw. Sadly I must have been having too much fun to document the night properly. My camera was devoid of any images but for some mysterious shadowy textures - and these:

I guess that says it all, really.
Check her out. She'll treat you right: http://bou-themadones.blogspot.com/

Istanbul (Not Constantinople)

The latest cover of Vogue Turkey is all about gorgeous textures:

And given my ongoing obsession with sequins, it's definitely working for me.

Postcards from the edge.

We Are Handsome's swimsuits are lovely and amazing.

My favourite is the Delaware, though all the styles are rad, limited edition and made to order.

"No sales tax. Good one, sir!"

Oh you punk girls, you make me cry.

Lolmygod, look at these ridonkulous shoes from Hot Topic:

Built in bottle-opener. What else does a crackwhore need?
Other than crack. Obviously.

High Fidelio.

Best music to get ready to: Shostakovich's Waltz 2 from Jazz Suite.

love kicks

You must check out the deeeevine photo shoot In Lust on the Vice website.

I don't know. I need to think.

Why can I love Helmut Newton's photos so, and at the same time find Terry Richardson so objectionable?

So very dear.

Now look at me forgetting I hate polka dots.

From the National Library of Australia archives.

Uh Oh It Girls part deux.

I just saw the movie LOL at the French Film Festival and it was great! Basically like a frog version of Skins - something I'm totally cool with. It was filled with lovely teenagers drinking, screwing and smoking (tut). Lou Lesage was one of them:

I think her style is cute and she must be doing something right in fashion world as she's been spotted in the front row at a Chanel show.
Also her face is a somewhat clunkier version of one of my perennial favourites, Leslie Caron:

Baby Cats.

"I had no idea how the picture would resonate with people. But it has been the image I've been asked about the most. For some reason, people are just fascinated with it - more than any model, house or celebrity I've ever shot. Everyone wants to know about the pastel cats."

I'd really like a knuckle ring like the Elizabeth and James one, modeled here by a girl.

It's not new or nuffin, I know.
But I would wear mine and feel like Ada in The Piano (post Chop):

What a beautiful beautiful movie. When I grow up I want to live in mid-19th century New Zealand.
