arf arf

Upon seeing Stella McCartney's new ad campaign my first thought was that Stella had chowed down one too many tofu burgers and lost the plot a little. But the clothes are impeccable and Natalia Vodianova (whatdoyaknow-va!) is super sexy as always.
The backdrop is a photo of Stella's childhood pet, Lucky, and was taken by Linda McCartney.
The concept is weird and surprising on first glance but the more I study the images, the more I see something touching and intimate about the series.

If Dior can...

I mean, I don't know how much of this is gonna be on TV or anything...

but, it's-- it's-- it's so new…

I mean, it's, uh, it's so old.

I mean, it's, uh-- I mean, she shows it like it really is.

It's, uh, it's so old, it's true.

It's so true, it's new.

It's the oldest new look. It's the newest old look.

It's-- It's—

Simone Lo has created a-- a new, new look...

for every man, woman and child.

And they can all afford it.

copper and alluminium, ya know.

I am totally going against my belief system here, but I think Turquoise is one of those things that is done better now than it was in the olden days (i.e. go new over vintage.)
Like check this CC Skye necklace:Stunning. And I'm not ashamed to admit that it was Rachel Zoe that made me appreciate the pretty stone:
Such a good one!

Are you ready boots?

I stumbled across the work of the Australian photographer Stef Mitchell quite accidentally. Here is one of her photos:
You know what I want to see? An Australian fashion label running a campaign like this.

Just get the guy to button up (what I think is) his flippin' V-neck t-shirt. I hate those things.
Update: My mum likes the photo too.

How ironic. Now he's blind after a lifetime of enjoying being able to see.

While on the whole it pisses me off when magazines show underage models smoking in photoshoots, it does give me some pleasure to see Cassi van den Dungen lighting up for Oyster magazine.
It seems a good way to stick it to the hypocritical ANTM judges who were on her back all season about quitting. Sarah Murdoch in particular was apparently quick to forget how she modeled on a Morrissey catwalk with a durry in tow.

Girls Talk.

What did I see at the Big Day Out? Bellies, bellies everywhere. Big ones, little ones and flabby tummies abounded and the bikini top/ denim (hipster!) shorts combo defs emerged as the crowd favourite. It was dumb.
Boys did better though. Look at these juicy man-colours:
And Devendra won everyone over with his mismatched socks.
It didn't even feel like Christmas.

Love her.

I don't know where Lara Stone packs those boobies away when she is modeling alongside her waif-ish colleagues - but Dayum! Lady lookin' good!
And she's marrying this man:
Odd, isn't it.

Cinderelly, Cinderelly!

Oh Hermes, this is... boring.

I'm disappointed partly because I've been craving a Cinderella shoot ever since coming across these mirror shoes by Andreia Chaves.

crown her sweet head

I am a devotee of the label Sretsis and this darling headlace (hmm) has me in raptures.I know plenty a pretty young boho who would wear such a piece beautifully. They should buy it here from Maximillia.

Ladies throw your hair around.

The model in the Lanvin ad is Jamie Bochert and a bunch of people on the Fashion Spot forums have expressed their relief at the fact that her face is not visible in the photo. To them I say hiss hiss boo.
Girl is a trained ballerina (can't you tell?) and has cheek bones up the ying yang.
High fashion models should not look like Victoria's Secret Angels.

Golden Balls.

The Golden Globes are on in less than a week and just in case some of the nominees still don't know what to wear, I have some suggestions (click on the picture for a link to the seller.)

Emily Blunt, nominated for Young Victoria. I generally think young lovelies should wear cocktail-length to the Globes and save their ground-sweepers for the Oscars.

Carey Mulligan, nominated for An Education and I know, I know, she don't need help from no one when it comes to clothes. Still, she would look mighty cute in this:

Sandra Bullock, nominated for The Blind Side. Sandy B gets a lot of shit for being boring on the red carpet. I know this buttercup number is a little risky but the lady has a rocking bod and the dress needs a brunette.

Helen Mirren, nominated for The Last Station. Hey, if you've got it...

Gabourey Sadibe for Precious.
Oh man, I'm still looking... I will not quit.

Update: Maybe this Julien Macdonald satin gown. I'm not too sure though...

Here we go.

Ok, so from now on whenever I find something I really want to buy I'll post it on this blog instead of actually buying it. Then I'll be rich.
First up is a knuckle duster, two-finger, cupcake sprinkle, boom box ring. How could it possibly be bad?
Being sold by Sweet Lobe on Etsy and it's only 8 green ones.

Freaky deaky.

I've just started watching the series Freaks and Geeks and was getting through the Halloween ep. in which one little dude (a Geek, I think) wears a Groucho Marx costume.
So I was definitely on board for this little number being sold by Owl Vintage on Etsy:
Gorgeous.
How many days till next Halloween?

??

I'm not totally sure but I think this is Rebecca Twigley.
I'm not totally sure but I think she is famous because her long term shtup-partner is some guy who plays football. And I'm not totally sure but I think this dress, worn at the 2010 Portsea Polo something, might be adorable.
What I do know for sure is that if Stella Artois is forking out for this event, they should make sure they get some photos of pretty girls drinking the stuff, not just sitting in their chairs.

out of the loop.

I am currently drooling over Bec and Bridge's very sexy lookbook.

Those cuffs! Them shoes! I didn't even know they did shoes.
No one tells me anything.

Cameras.

I recently saw the band Cameras at Peats Ridge festival. I had never heard of them before but they were seriously amazing. Also, the video for their song 'June' might be a little perfect.

And how dreamy is Eleanor's hat? Like a negative halo.

Uh Oh It Girls.

This is the next one. Meet Atlanta de Cadenet, spawn of Amanda and a non-Simon Le Bon member of Duran Duran. Step-daughter of Nick Valensi of The Strokes.
Her style? She kinda looks like every other Cobrasnake darling but she's just edgy enough for a magazine writer to get away with describing her dress sense as 'innovative.'
Now who's going to sign her up for a campaign?

love hurts.

Made out of telephone books.
Created by french lady (artist?), Jolis Paons.

More beautiful because it won't last, I think.

follow the waves

These feetsies belong to a lovely regular at the Bank Hotel, Newtown.

style amnesia

One bummer of an omission from In Style's 100 dresses list (link in post below) was the Vera Wang gown Michelle Williams wore to the 2006 Oscars:

That's some cra cra shit right there.
